Fault Diagnosis First
Boiler Repair London
A boiler fault is rarely just one thing gone wrong — it's usually a symptom pointing at a specific cause, and treating the symptom without finding the cause is how the same call-out happens twice. Our engineers are fully Gas Safe registered and trained to work through a fault methodically: what the boiler is doing, what the display or fault code says, and what that combination actually means for your specific make and model.

We work on the boilers most common in London homes — combi, system and regular (heat-only) — across the brands engineers see every week here: Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Glow-worm and others. Before anything is replaced, we explain what we found, what we think caused it, and what the fix involves, so you're deciding with the same information we have.
Some faults are quick — a reset, a sensor, a stuck valve. Others point to something that needs replacing under warranty or paying for outright. Either way, our first job on site is diagnosis, not a parts-fitting exercise, because a boiler that's been guessed at tends to fail again within weeks.
We quote per job once the fault is diagnosed, not against a fixed rate card — a stuck diverter valve and a failed PCB are very different jobs. You get a confirmed price before any repair work begins.
What you get
- Gas Safe registered engineers on every visit — verifiable, not just claimed.
- Fault-code aware diagnosis across Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Glow-worm and other major brands.
- Diagnosis explained before any parts are ordered or fitted — no work starts on a guess.
- Combi, system and regular boilers, the three types found across London housing stock.
- Written explanation of the fault and the fix, useful for landlords, letting agents and your own records.
- Honest repair-vs-replace advice when a boiler is old enough that a fix is a temporary answer.
How it works
A method, not a guess
01
Tell us the symptoms
No heat, no hot water, banging noises, a flashing light, a fault code on the display — whatever you're seeing, that description is where diagnosis starts, so the engineer arrives already thinking about likely causes.
02
On-site diagnosis
The engineer checks the boiler systematically — fault history, pressure, flow, ignition, and any displayed code — to identify the actual cause rather than the most convenient guess.
03
Clear explanation, then a quote
Before any work starts you're told what's wrong, why it happened, and what fixing it involves — parts, labour, and whether it's worth repairing versus planning a replacement.
04
Repair and check
Once you approve the work, the engineer completes the repair and checks the boiler is firing correctly and safely before finishing — not just that the fault light has gone off.
Questions
Boiler Repair FAQs for London homeowners
How do I know if my boiler needs repairing or replacing?
It usually comes down to age, the cost of the part against the cost of the boiler, and how often it's been breaking down. A ten-year-old boiler with a failed heat exchanger is a different conversation to a two-year-old boiler with a faulty sensor. We'll give you a straight answer on which makes more sense for your situation, not a default upsell.
Is it safe to keep using my boiler if it keeps cutting out?
A boiler that repeatedly locks out is telling you something, and running it on repeated manual resets isn't a fix. It's not automatically a gas safety emergency, but it does need a proper diagnosis rather than being reset and ignored — get it looked at before it fails completely, ideally somewhere cold.
What does 'Gas Safe registered' actually mean?
It means the engineer is legally permitted to work on gas boilers and appliances in the UK — it's not optional and it's not a marketing badge. Every engineer we send is fully Gas Safe registered; you can always ask to see an engineer's ID card on the day.
Do you work on all boiler brands?
Yes — the boilers most commonly installed across London, including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi and Glow-worm, plus other major manufacturers. If your model has a fault-code display, our fault-code reference covers the most common codes for these brands.
Will you quote before you start work?
Always. Diagnosis comes first, then a confirmed price for the repair — you decide whether to go ahead before anything is fitted. We don't do open-ended hourly billing on a job we haven't explained.
